Flawless
Hi guys!
I'm so happy to announce that my new music video Flawless will be released on YouTube September 16, 2018 (Click here to check out the official press release). I am proud of myself everytime I finish a new project, but this one is really special to me. I made this song to talk to all the kids out there who are like me; kids who feel like no one understands what they're going through as they struggle through their hard times. I can relate to feeling like the outcast. I know the pain you feel when other kids are mean to you just because you're different. I understand the pressure you face to fit in. That's why I wanted to let you all know that I stand with you. You are not alone!
For a long time I was afraid to tell my story because I thought that whoever I told it to would think bad things about me. So, I kept it to myself. My mom gave me the courage to talk about what I was going through at school and she encouraged me to share my story to help others. I am so glad I did! Once I opened up I started to realize that I wasn't the only one. In fact, I started to notice that most kids my age struggle with accepting who they are and that we all feel alone. Most kids are either afraid to talk to someone close to them, or they feel like no one cares, so they keep it bottled up. But, that's the worst thing you can do because it only makes the pain worse and some kids start doing things that can or will harm them to get away from how they feel.
I wrote Flawless as a way to remind myself and kids like me that although we all have flaws we need to embrace them because our flaws are what make us who we are. We all have flaws and that's no big deal. My hope is that instead of focusing on our flaws we start focusing on what makes us unique, what makes us amazing, what makes us... well, us! I hope that when parents see Flawless they take some time to talk with their kids about what they're going through and how they feel; even if they don't open up right away knowing that your parents really care means a lot.
